Cookies Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how cookies and similar storage technologies are used on the websites operated under the brand "Status Rotator" ("SR++") (the "Site"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in those documents.
This Policy reflects the requirements of the EU ePrivacy rules (Directive 2002/58/EC, as transposed) and the GDPR, under which non-essential cookies and similar technologies are used only with your consent.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
1.1. Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and store certain information.
1.2. Similar technologies include browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage and
sessionStorage, as well as pixels, tags, and software development kits (SDKs) embedded by us or by third
parties. In this Policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies.
1.3. Cookies may be:
- First-party (set by the Site) or third-party (set by another domain, e.g. an embedded provider);
- Session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remaining for a defined period);
- Strictly necessary, functional, analytics, or third-party/marketing, by purpose.
2. How We Use Cookies and the Legal Basis
2.1. Strictly necessary cookies and storage are used to operate the Site and provide the services you request (for example, to protect security and to process payments). These do not require consent; we use them on the basis of the strict necessity exemption under the ePrivacy rules and our legitimate interest / the performance of our contract with you under the GDPR.
2.2. Functional, analytics, and third-party/marketing cookies are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may give or refuse and withdraw at any time (see Section 6).
3. Consent and the (Absence of a) Consent Banner
3.1. We do not use third-party website analytics or advertising/marketing cookies (see Section 4.3). The Site uses only strictly necessary items and a small number of functional items (such as remembering your theme or language). Strictly necessary items cannot be switched off, as the Site cannot function properly without them.
3.2. Because no analytics or marketing cookies are used, a full cookie consent banner is generally not legally required. This Policy serves as our clear cookie notice. You can in any case manage or refuse cookies and clear stored items at any time through your browser settings (see Section 6).
4. Cookies and Storage We Use
The following tables describe the cookies and storage technologies used on the Site. Durations marked should be verified against the live implementation and the providers' current defaults.
4.1. Strictly necessary
| Name / item | Type / storage | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cloudflare security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm, cf_clearance) | Cookie | Cloudflare | Security, bot management, anti-DDoS, distinguishing humans from bots | __cf_bm ~30 minutes; cf_clearance ~30 minutes–1 year depending on configuration | Third |
Stripe payment/fraud cookies (e.g. __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) | Cookie | Stripe | Secure payment processing and fraud prevention at checkout | __stripe_mid ~1 year; __stripe_sid ~30 minutes | Third |
4.2. Functional
| Name / item | Type / storage | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
theme | localStorage | First party (Site) | Remembers your light/dark theme preference | Until cleared | First |
doc-language | localStorage | First party (Site) | Remembers your documentation language preference | Until cleared | First |
4.3. Analytics
We do not use third-party analytics. The Site embeds no Google Analytics, Plausible, or similar tool, and sets no analytics cookies. This category therefore does not apply.
4.4. Third-party services
Assistify chat widget (the in-Site support chat, operated by NATIV STUDIO OÜ — the same company that operates Status Rotator — and hosted in the EU). The widget sets the following items:
| Name / item | Type / storage | Purpose | Duration | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chat identifier | First-party cookie, mirrored in local and session storage | Links your messages to your conversation, keeps the chat consistent across pages, and brings back your earlier conversation on a later visit | Up to 6 months, renewed on each return visit | Strictly necessary |
| Consent choice | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choice so it is applied on later visits | 13 months | Strictly necessary |
| Sound preference | Local storage | Remembers whether you turned chat sounds on or off | Until cleared | Functional |
| Message drafts | Local storage | Keeps a message you have typed but not yet sent | Until cleared or the message is sent | Functional |
| Recent emoji | Local storage | Remembers emoji you used recently for quicker reuse | Until cleared | Functional |
If you decline storage, the widget falls back to a session-only identifier that lasts only for your current visit. The functional items are written only after you interact with the chat (e.g. send a message), never merely on page load.
5. Third-Party Cookies and SDKs
5.1. Some cookies and SDKs are set by third parties whose services are embedded in the Site (namely Cloudflare, Stripe, and Assistify). These third parties may process data in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control.
5.2. We provide links to the relevant third-party policies: Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/), Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy), and Assistify (https://assistify.chat/privacy and https://assistify.chat/cookies).
5.3. For more on the recipients of personal data and international transfers, see Sections 7 and 8 of the Privacy Policy.
6. How to Manage or Refuse Cookies
6.1. Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, manage, block, or delete cookies and browser storage through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies or browser storage may prevent the Site (including checkout) from working properly. Browser help pages include:
- Google Chrome — https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox — https://support.mozilla.org/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
- Apple Safari — https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/
- Microsoft Edge — https://support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09
6.2. Clearing browser storage. You can clear localStorage and sessionStorage via your browser's site-data
controls.
6.3. Third-party tools. You can also manage the Assistify widget's storage via its own controls and the links in Section 5.
6.4. Withdrawing consent. Withdrawing consent (for functional items) does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. After withdrawal, non-essential items will no longer be set (subject to your browser already clearing previously stored items).
7. Retention
7.1. The duration of each cookie or storage item is indicated in the tables in Section 4. Session items are deleted when you close your browser; persistent items remain for the stated period or until you delete them.
8. Changes to this Cookies Policy
8.1. We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in the law. We will post the updated Policy with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, re-request consent.
